MillerCoors is an integral part of Albany and the State of
Georgia. Miller Brewing is dedicated to its mission of quality, innovation, integrity and
leadership, within and beyond its breweries and facilities. Miller Brewing has a
significant impact on the area's economy and quality of life which includes:

With over 550 employees and a payroll of more than $30 million dollars, MillerCoors is among the largest employers in the Albany area. Its work force, ranging from
brewery works and managers to administrators and support staff, represents a diverse group
of local citizens who also make their own contributions to the community. As parents,
homeowners, taxpayers, volunteers and role models, our employees help make Albany and
southwest Georgia a thriving community.
- Each year MillerCoors produces approximately 7 million barrels of beer at its
Albany brewery. Miller purchases a wide array of goods and services from local and
state-based companies. From bottle crowns to barley, corrugated to cans, the ingredients,
supplies, equipment and services that MillerCoors purchases generates additional local
economic activity and provides a substantial economical impact in the community. In fact,
MillerCoors is one of the largest customers of many area vendors. Our local purchases
include containers, maintenance parts and a vast array of engineering and technical
services.
- MillerCoors makes a significant contribution to the local tax base.
State and local taxes and fees paid exceed $32 million. In addition, individual
MillerCoors employees paid in excess of $2 million in state and local income taxes.
Federal Excise taxes paid in 2006 was $120 million. Transportation costs exceeded $15
million. The brewery utilizes 225 inbound/outbound trucks per day and approximately 30
railcars per day.
- MillerCoors is committed to supporting the communities where it does
business. To that end, MillerCoors has made financial contributions to a host of
charitable groups, nonprofit organizations, scholarship funds and community development
projects in the state, including Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Club of Albany, The
Albany Museum of Art, Mt. Zion Civil Rights Museum, Thronateeska Heritage Center, and a statewide hunger initiative,
"Fighting Hunger in Georgia."
- MillerCoors also sponsors
and is involved in several events such as the Colquitt County Arts
Festival and the National Black Arts Festival. In addition, MillerCoors supports and participants in a variety of community service
projects in Georgia ranging from Keep America Beautiful and support
for public-private educational partnerships.
- MillerCoors was presented the "1999 Manufacturer of the
Year Award" by Governor Roy Barnes on behalf of the Georgia Association of
Manufacturers. Miller was commended for its outstanding manufacturing process and
its Corporate Citizenship. The Georgia Economic Development Association awarded
MillerCoors the "2000 Industry of the Year Award" in Region 10.

million to build. The site was the former Turner Air
