This is the new chapel, built by the Air Force in the 1960s. It had blue stained glass that seemed to color the interior air Blue. This is in keeping with the Air Force Color of Blue. This building still exists.

This was the main entrance to Turner Air Force Base and the Naval Air Station. Entering Vehicles stopped at the sentry station in the center for Identification and Admittance. If the vehicle displayed the proper decal on the Windshield, the Sentry (Air Police) waved it in. The Decals were of different colors. If it was an officers decal, the sentry saluted. The building to the right housed offices for M.P. s (Turner field era), A.P.s (Turner Air Force Base era or S.Ps. (Shore Patrol, Naval Air Station)
